Bong-Ra, one of the most prominent stars of this year's Bass Stage, describes his latest release titled Monolith as pure hybrid electronics. The album was cast in the Dutch furnace of dark drum & bass PRSPCT Recordings.

Bong-Ra (real name Jason Kohnen) was formed in 1996, initially producing and DJing jungle music. Previous to Bong-Ra Jason Kohnen performed as bassist and drummer for stoner/doom metal band Celestial Season amongst others.

Bong-Ra’s style contains a variety of crossovers and fusions of different genres, including jungle, gabba, jazz, rave and even metal, becoming one of the front runners of the breakcore genre, sometimes credited as yardcore or raggacore, blending reggae and ragga with breakcore.
