July 5–8 this year, the most loyal fans of electronic music and nature will gather for the 9th time at the Tundra Festival which is the oldest and the biggest event of alternative electronic music in the Baltic states. The Festival will once again take place on the Island of Dūburys Lake surrounded by the scenic landscape of Zarasai Region. Four stages will deliver over 100 acts from Lithuania and other countries including the legendary dance music project Bong Ra, the most prominent Italian dub‘n‘bass producer Peak, the renowned Steve Rachmad from the Netherlands, as well as electronic music performers Shotu from France and Fanu from Finland.
Traditionally, the swarm of electronic music fans will crowd around four main stages: Bass, Techno, Psy Trance and Chill Out. The Bass stage will introduce Bong-Ra (Jason Kohnen) from the Netherlands, one of the pioneers of breakcore who can be distinguished for powerful and unique sound and skilful combination of different music styles, including gabba, jazz, jungle and even metal. The organisers of the Festival also managed to lure other stars, such as Peak (Paolo Picone), the high-profile Italian dub‘n‘bass producer and the founder of the Soundabbast agency, who’s career began at the age of 15 and who’s first vinyl Darksuite was distributed all over the world. The event will also introduce the psychedelic virtuoso Shotu from France who has performed in nightclubs all around the world.
Tundra will also be revisited by some of the acts from the previous editions of the Festival, including the Dutch producer Steve Rachmad; the sound of the famous techno performer is unique for its deep sound, impressive strings, melodies, and funk and soul. This year, live music will move to the Chill Out stage where noisy acoustic instruments will be replaced by electronic sounds that are more adequate to the lounge space and the nature of the Festival. The Festival will also feature some of the leading names of the local scene, such as Zooch from Arkona Creation; internationally celebrated Gido and doHm; Daimon and Pagalve from Techstylism; as well as live reggae and dub act Ministry of Echology.
Tickets to the Tundra Festival can be purchased from Tiketa.lt. Prices will rise.
