We received some music from this year “Tundra” festival.

Live and authentic records directly from the endless summer dream! The first is a performance by Techstylism member Daimon.

Daimon himself says that this record has become a fun surprise to him, “I wasn’t aware about the recording and it turn out nicely. What you’ll hear is a neat and green live mix straight from the nature. Turntables, vinyl, real improvisation and impromptu. This time it headed into broken, wonky, idm’ish techno universe.”

This audio from Tundra festival is the first official Daimon mix after studio recording “Gyliai” that saw the daylight in the beginning of 2008.

In the nearest future you can catch Daimon at beast masquerade of REGENERATION 2011 on December 25th in Kaunas and Utena, and December 30th in Vilnius.

For some time now we have stirred the water by adding names to the line-ups, given an edge to your appetite with our specialties, told you about art programmes, lured you with games, events and attractions. Hardly two days remain before the beginning of the Festival, and it seems like the silent waiting can only be interrupted by weather forecasts that are changing every couple of hours and obsessive decisions on the clothes you should take with you. But this year we are relentless and the latest news about the secret headliner are followed by another killer news!

Following our mission to increase the number of alternatives to the night entertainment, we are adding two more stages that will be open during the daytime. Zip Beach and Psy Beach will keep the company of the debut Live Stage. If the Chill Out area is too sleepy for you, and the sound of guitars are as annoying, as cats wauling under the balcony, if you are baking in the sun and can’t take a step without electronic music, a dozen of DJs will do their best to rival the car audio systems in the parking lot. Live sets ranging from techno to minimal and from acid to psy trance will be delivered by well known local producers Pranza, El_T, Calli, the cult producer of the Lithuanian electronic music scene Sigitas a.k.a. DJ Saga a.k.a. Saulės garsai, and others.

As always, the line-up is not exhaustive…

We are proud to unveil the long awaited headliner of the Bass Stage – The Sect duo who will arrive at the infinite dream of “Tundra” from the UK. The show of The Sect will definitely be the darkest and the heaviest among all this year’s headliners of the Bass Stage.

The Sect are experts of studio recordings, but they feel even better behind the turntables. Ben Kay, a.k.a. DJ Virtua, has participated in a number of DJ contests and stormed the parties across London and Bristol night clubs. His partner Dave Edwards, a.k.a. DJ Blade, has been showcasing his turntablist skills across the world for over 15 years and has visited most of the raves in England, Russia and New Zealand.

The Bass Stage dedicated to “broken” rhythms will also host a number of other guests from abroad, such as Instra:mental, Raiden, Addison Groove a.k.a. Headhunter, L-OW, and over a dozen music and video artists from Latvia, Lithuania and other countries. During the daytime, the Bass space will shapeshift into a live music stage.

Meanwhile, the never-ending line-up of the Psy Trance Stage has been complemented with Magic Fungus (LT) and the maestro of video projection – VJ Trueman (LV). Chill Out space was joined by the leading producer of the min_for crew – Ernestas Sadau, guests from the Czech Republic – Secret Vision, the representative of the stage curators Swamp Tales – Zenith, and the duo from the Siloka team – Nectaras & Ciaxma.

You can find detailed line up here.

The towers of the infinite dream realm of the 8th “Tundra” can already be seen over a hill. July 7–10, the peninsula of Lake Duburys will rave with electronic music parties at night and enjoy live sounds and multi-genre art programme at daytime. This year, the Festival will offer a variety of unique and meaningful activities including art workshops, shops, classes, performances, films, lectures and meditation sessions. We won’t list them all here, but some are really worth mentioning.

Beside the jewellery production workshops, photo studios, interesting lectures, board games, fire dances and other types of entertainment that are already traditional to the Festival’s programme, several new crews will join in with a bunch of activities for those unwilling to fry in the sun by the tent all day.

Yoga and Thai massage sessions held by professional teachers will enable better understanding of non-verbal communication techniques and provide entertainment. Gong meditation is a special technique that will help you see yourself as a small, but tremendously important part of the Universe, and discover inner harmony. You will also be able to free your mind and your body through improvised dance lessons, and to discover your inner child during monocycle riding classes – the instructor will also make an introduction to this unique and green means of transportation, which is – according to the teacher – far superior than the bicycle. Those yearning for more adrenaline are welcome to visit the ONE entertainment park, while the Funny Pramogation crew promises to weed out your brain with a range of games and competitions.

The eco workshop Electro Goes Green will remind you that the best entertainment is the one that saves environment – the crew will teach you to create pieces of art out of the junk you bring with you to the workshop; there will also be a gigantic Twister game that can played by as many as 10 persons at the same time. The team of ecologists will be joined by the project Think Green, which will teach you the tricks of recycling.

Beside the workshops, there will also be a programme of interactive performances that will shake the air and the minds: Kinetic Theatre Troupe has prepared several shows that can be watched and even joined. Rain Choir, The Beating, Aboriginal Scream – those are only a few theatrical improvisation exercises/performances that will take place across the Festival grounds.

Tom Cosm from New Zealand, who will be sending the good vibes from the Festival’s Psy Trance stage, does not only play music, but also uses it a means of communication. “It is immediate communication surpassing all other forms of human socialisation,” says Tom. Known not only as a producer of electronic music, but also a teacher and an author of tutorials for Ableton Live software, Tom Cosm offers an exclusive opportunity to the Festival’s guests to communicate through music by dancing to it till dawn and by gaining knowledge during his workshops.

The maestro of computer music production software will hold two workshops for electronic music composers with different levels of experience. The first workshop is intended for beginners and hobbyists, who have an interest in digital audio production/performance, but have never known how or where to start. First, the participants will gain solid knowledge of how technology has influenced the creation of modern day music. Tom Cosm will move through several areas, starting with the physics of sound and the effects it has on the human brain; right through to creating sound from scratch in the studio using sequencers and synthesizers. The workshop will be interactive, and participants will be able to watch and contribute to real time examples of how sound can be produced, layered and structured using a computer. The second part of the workshop will show how to move the tunes that have been created in the studio into a form that can be performed live using a laptop and other equipment.

The second workshop will be slightly more advanced and is intended for producers who already have written tunes, but want to know how to turn those tunes into something they can perform live. An introduction to Ableton Live and advice on how to move from the studio to live performance will help overcome the fear of live performance and start experimenting. Tom Cosm will share his own developed techniques of easily getting through this process, with a focus on making it smooth and lots of fun. Thus, this workshop is an exclusive chance to gain experience from a person who has been doing it (and doing it great) for a long time.

The time has come to reveal the news about “Tundra’s” Live stage, which is new to the Festival and will be moored by the Bass shore during the day time on Friday and Saturday. Although live music has been trying to fit in with record players and CD players in “Tundra’s” electronic realm for a few years now, this is the first time in the history of the Festival when live performances are given a dedicated stage. Well known performers and promising musicians will give their gigs on the deck of a real dry-docked boat.

The Live stage will host No Dog Barking, the project of Insearch and Domas Strupinskas; The Deflux, who have explored many musical realms from punk to industrial and currently playing an ingenious combination of indie, electro and d’n’b; as well as one of the most promising bands of the Lithuanian alternative music scene Days of Eclipse – an industrial/experimental rock project combining electronic music with the rebellious spirit of rock’n’roll.

Another rush of lively alternative music will be delivered by Aides who call themselves ‘three unknown perfectionists’. Inspired by rock legends, such as Radiohead and Muse, and influenced by Kings of Leon who are currently riding the wave, the sound of Aides encompasses the elements of a wide range of musical styles including rock, ambient, punk, indie, metal and jazz. The band famous for expressive performances and constant search for new musical visions has won the Best Rock Cat award in Estonian Music Awards 2011 and are currently recording their second album.

Sometimes lyric and sometimes driving, but always inspiring music of Golden Parazyth needs no introduction to devoted fans of “Tundra” festival. This already famous Lithuanian producer has always been open for interpretation, experiment and stylistic variety. During his fifth performance in the Festival, Golden Parazyth will be accompanied by the Monkeys Band.

The Messiah Goes Mad project consisting of MC Messiah and his abstract hip-hop orchestra will preach to their lambs with electrified sound now enriched with additional keyboards and a bass line. Meanwhile, Fusedmarc, the pioneers of the Lithuanian electronic music scene, and contemporary audio and video artists, will share their experience and imagination with the audience through an exclusive audiovisual show open for free interpretation.

The crew of the Live boat will be joined shortly by a few more names. You can find the latest line-up here.

Tom Cosm is an electronic musician and educator based in Christchurch, New Zealand. He
is best known for his work within the computer music scene, especially for the creation and
distribution of tutorials related to the use of Ableton Live.

Tom was born in Christchurch, New Zealand, where he spent his formative years. He
left Linwood College (New Zealand) in 2001. Growing up he was influenced by Happy
Hardcore, Drum’n'bass and Breakcore/IDM. He also cites that classical composers, such
as Sergei Rachmaninoff and Franz Liszt were large influences. He studied towards a
degree in music, specifically Jazz, at the Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology,
but left after two years to continue his work with computers and music.

He has performed extensively in both New Zealand (Aotearoa) and Australia, as well as many
countries in Europe, Asia and South America Some of his more notable performances including
the Canaan Downs festival[1] in New Zealand

Tom contributed 1 track to the Compilation Contact Lens on Cosmic Conspiracy Records , 2 tracks to the compilation Ultrapop 2 on
Fabularecords in 2007,[6] and the Earthbeatz compilation on Native Harmonix Records (2008).[7]
Tom has since decided not to commercially release any more music, as keeping them free helps
his career a lot more.

Tom makes his work freely available through his website. He has several live sets
and tunes available for download. He also offers the component parts of his computer
compositions so that others can download and see how they are created.

In his own words “I treat music as a form of communication that completely overpowers
that of any other kind of human interaction, and I don’t want money or middle men
getting in between the link that we create when you listen to my music, or have its access
restricted to people who can either afford it, or have the technical ability to steal it.
Everyone can download my music free at anytime directly from the source where it was
created.”

Jahbo was born as Roelike Bunzendahl in 1981 in a hippie society in the north of Denmark. As a basic member of Parvati Records he started to appear on this label acts like a pioneer in the psytrance scene since it’s beginning as well as the confidential person for Giuseppe, and relentless helped building up this special base for the extraordinariness in the music scene.

Working in a music shop in his real life he is always refining his production skills meticulously to define his extraordinary and most definitely recognizable style at his recent state of the art and his tracks basically have this special charme of a tripped out mushroom atmosphere.

Morphing soundscapes, wobbling basslines and an immense potion of the right humor spangled with a lot of twisted effects and surrealistic leads are a defined earmark of Jahbo tracks and so he was playing all around the globe on almost all important festivals with his exceptional live gigs and absorbing sets.

He appeared on many releases, mainly on his homelabel in Denmark as well as on leading psytrance labels with the ideology of twisted trippy psytrance, with his solo project Jahbo as well as with the different projects he is also doing, like the most recent appearance on latest Parvati CD, “No strings attached”, with Mussy Moody forming Psilo Cowboys.

His dj sets are dedicated to the trippers on the dancefloor, and he is able to move it night or daytime with his crispy and of course typical Aarhus styled attitude to send the crowd on his wings of psytrance.

He always finds time between working on his debut album and handling his job responsibilities to play on special events around the globe.

Giuseppe was born and raised in Italy, right after school moved to Denmark, Aarhus, where he has been based since. There, in the early 90´s, he got introduced to Psychedelic Trance Music by his friend Byzught who was visiting Goa every year collecting music. At that time Psychedelic-Trance music was quite unknown there. Byzught slowly introduced and organized the first parties and in the middle of the ´90 we founded the club “INSTANT KARMA” having parties with Total Eclipse, Dino Psaras, Koxbox and more.

During the summer of 2000 Giuseppe founded Parvati Records. The vision was to create a platform for talented producers from the underground milieau. Since the start he’s been trying to pay attention to artists who try to explore and push the borders of electronic psychedelic trance having allways a friendly approach to the dancefloor: being not full experimental but always innovative and avandgarded in order to reach and stimulate a wider audience.

I has compiled so far all Parvati releases except from prvcd19 Brainzcrew and since 2004 has started to play at parties, presenting a selection of the music released on Parvati and the demos
arriving at the label.
